Eligibility for Aeronautical Engineering 

The eligibility required for aeronautical engineering courses as career option as career option after 12th Science is minimum 10+2 with science subjects(PCM) or any other equivalent examination having a minimum of 60% marks in total aggregate.


Other Courses and Degree Equivalent to B.Tech

In addition there are other courses and degree equivalent to B.Tech. It is conducted by Aeronautical society of India. It has two section
Section A : Section "A" has 10 papers. A candidate who has passed 10+2 examination with PCM obtaining 50% or more marks in each subject is eligible for appearing in the exam.

Section B : Section "B" has 3 specialist streams - Aero- Mechanical, Avionics, Maintenance and Production stream. Those who have completed the section A exams are eligible to appear in the section B examination. However candidates who are possessing a degree in any branch of engineering can directly appeared for section B. They will however be required to appear and pass in the subject "Principles of Flight" of section A. The marks allotted to each subject are 100. Pass marks in each subject are 50. Examination are held twice a year in June and December at nine centres. Successful candidates are designated as Associate Member of the Aeronautical Society of India which is recognized as equivalent to B.Tech (Aeronautical Engineering). They are eligible to appear for Gate, to pursue for post graduate studies.

AMIE EXAM (Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers) 

Aerospace Engineering is one of the 15 branches for which diploma holders can take AMIE exam. AMIE is an engineering degree equivalent to B.TECH. It is offered by the institution of Engineers (India). For being eligible for this degree first you have to pass in 3 years engineering diploma in any branch or 10+2 with (PCM).
